I feel honored for the time we spent together, and for the support I feel from my Reiki guides.

My dear friends H.L. Carpenter just released a new cozy mystery titled, “A Cause For Murder: An Emma Twiggs Mystery”.


As part of their release tour a fellow author and friend, Sloane Taylor, posted one of the Carpenter’s most delicious recipes. You can see the original recipe here.

I know you’re foodies, and you may be wondering why I haven’t shown you how the Carpenter’s inspired me to make the most delicious crumble I’ve ever made. There’s a good reason – the Cozy Mystery genre. Cozy Mysteries often feature our favorite subject – food. For example, there’s a character in “A Cause For Murder” who tries his baking attempts out on our Emma. Sweet soul that she is, she is kind to him. He needs this recipe!

Berryd Treasure

Made with freeze-dried strawberry slices and diced pears.


I admit that I’m a cheater who plays it safe. My strawberries will never grow mold before I use them. I didn’t spend time washing or chopping the fruit. I simply measured and refreshed with water.


Here’s my recipe:

1 1/4 Thrive Life strawberry slices, refreshed

3/4 Thrive Life diced pears, refreshed

1/8 tsp. Thrive Life Classic Lemonade powder

1/2 C. water

Combine the strawberries, pears, lemonade powder and water in a bowl. Refresh for at least 10 minutes while you make the crumble topping.

3 Tbsp. coconut sugar

2 Tbsp. Thrive Life Quick Oats

2 Tbsp. pecan pieces, chopped

2 Tbsp. gluten-free flour

1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

1 Tbsp. butter

Measure the sugar, oats, pecan pieces, gluten-free flour and pumpkin pie spice into a plastic bag. Shake to mix. Your little ones will like helping with this part. Add the tablespoon of butter and then close the bag. Knead the butter in until the topping looks like loose crumbs.

Bake It

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Butter the bottom of a glass baking dish.

Add the fruit mixture, then the crumble mixture.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the fruit is cooked.

If you have read Animal Reiki by Elizabeth Fulton and Kathleen Prasad then you may already be a fan of how in-depth the experiences they shared are. I kept both ladies on my author list because they helped me take my animal Reiki practice to new levels. I have confidently taught students to give Reiki to a variety of animals, and I have taught animals to give Reiki to people, and even to other animals. What a sight that is! So touching!

We Haz Shredded Beef & We Built a School in Muungano, Africa! July Thrive Life News & Specials
