When I began teaching Reiki I never dreamed that I would receive, or invent, a technique.  There was already a plethora of fantastic Reiki happening, so why add more?  Then, slowly, I learned more by practicing Reiki.  I taught a Reiki Master Teacher class in November, sharing so many unrecorded ideas that it took most of the class, and then, bam, it was clear to me that it was time for me to teach what I’ve been practicing.

I present for you, the Reiki Coil technique, which I invented to help to continue a flow of Reiki that was started during a Reiki session.  Though a client may be feeling great relief at the end of their session, there is often a sense that there are more releases to come.  That’s where the Reiki Coil comes in.

If you sense that more releases are coming after you’ve spent the bulk of the session on clearing, visualize a thick coil that starts at the top of your client’s energy field, and continues down past the opposite end of their energy field.  The color of the energy inside of the coil is up to you.  I usually see a bright blue color there.  Make the intention that the coil will continue to aid the client in releasing for a specific length of time.  I use my intuition to determine how long it is.  In my experience it is anywhere from three days to several months.

Since the coil is there to continue to help with releases, I also visualize a drain below the bottom of the coil for the releases to drain to.  You can include an intention to replace the released energy with Reiki.  It probably happens on its own, so don’t worry if you forget.

I always tell my client about the coil, the drain, and the length of time it will be active so that they know what kind of support they’re receiving, and to help them to be aware that Reiki is still active with them in case they have a large release.  I imagine it would be disorienting, or maybe even scary, to have a big release and wonder where it came from.
